Billing Representative

Job Summary:

  • Performs insurance/billing clerical duties, including review and verification of patient account information against insurance program specifications.
  • May resolve routine patient billing inquiries and problems, follow up on balances due from insurance companies, and type invoices to insurance companies.
  • May enter data electronically to process charges, payments, denials and adjustments.
  • May analyze and code surgical procedures and diagnosis using ICD-9 & CPT-4 codes.

Knowledge, skills, abilities:

  • The credentials normally associated with competence in this position include a high school diploma with 1-2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination or training and relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of medical billing and insurance claim filing, communications skills.
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 & CPT-4 coding.
  • Must be able to key 90 kspm with 90% accuracy on the data entry test.

Certified Medical Assistant

Job Summary:

  • Performs a variety of patient care activities to assist physicians and nursing personnel.
  • Prepares the examination room for the patient as well as taking patient vital signs and recording vitals in medical chart.
  • This position also includes phlebotomy.
  • Also, may verify pre-certification.
  • May utilize automated scheduling system (IDX) to schedule appointments for patients as well as registration.

Knowledge, skills, abilities:

  • The credentials normally associated with competence in this position include a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires a Certified Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited teaching establishment; 12 months to 2 years of related work experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Effective interpersonal and communications skills required.

Call Center Representative

Job Summary:

  • Screen and route patient calls efficiently ensuring accurate registration, appointment scheduling and follow-up appointment scheduling into database.
  • Respond to patient’s questions and needs by editing, canceling and re-scheduling appointments as necessary according to clinic protocols.
  • Ensure accuracy of data input with scheduling, registration, etc.

Knowledge, skills, abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years progressive work experience in a medical setting.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Summary:

  • Perform nursing duties in accordance with LPN Tennessee licensure.
  • Also carries out assigned nursing procedures for the comfort and well being of patients.
  • Takes and records patients vital signs.
  • Prepares exam room for use and sterilizes equipment and supplies.
  • Assists physicians with procedures, patient care and scheduling procedures.
  • May utilize automated scheduling system (IDX) to schedule appointments.
  • Also, this position obtains pre-certification on procedures when required.
  • Triage calls for physician to include determining emergencies, identifying symptoms, using discretion for work-in appointments, and refilling routine prescriptions after reviewing medical chart.

  • The credentials normally associated with competence in this position include graduate of an accredited school of nursing with 1-2 years of experience preferred.
  • Current AHA Healthcare Provider (BCLS). Knowledge of medical terminology of diseases and treatment. Medical assessment skills.
  • Ability to apply aseptic tech and sterilization.
  • Knowledge of IDX system - Scheduling/Registration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Medical Office Assistant

Job Summary:

  • Greets patients and visitors and verifies patient information in the current IDX system.
  • Performs automated appointment scheduling and registration for patients as well as updating demographic information.
  • This position also maintains patients’ medical charts and receives co-payments for the visit.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential for this position.
  • MOA II’s (Internal) will be considered.

Knowledge, skills, abilities:

  • The credentials normally associated with competence in this position include a High School diploma or equivalent plus 1-2 years work experience in medical setting or equivalent combination of education and work experience is preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills required. Excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Knowledge of IDX system preferred, but no required.
  • Must be able to type 25 wpm with 90% accuracy on the typing test.

Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

  • Professional nursing care for the comfort and well being of patients within the clinic setting.
  • Prepares equipment and assists physician during examinations and treatments.
  • Provides general nursing care for the patient as well as patient satisfaction.
  • Maintains compliance regulations.
  • May also take care of scheduling and obtaining pre-certification procedures.
  • Handles medical record completion. May utilize automated scheduling system (IDX) to schedule appointments and phone triage

Knowledge, skills, abilities:

  • The credentials normally associated with competence in this position include a Bachelor’s Science Degree (BSN) from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • RN Certification and State of Tennessee licensure is required with 1-2 years experience in specialty preferred.
  • Proven experience in clinic or hospital setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of nursing, anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of equipment, sterilization techniques and procedures of treatment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge and application of medical chart requirements.
  • Ability to read charts to ensure lab tests and reports required are there for physician review.
  • Medical assessment skills.
  • Knowledge of IDX system - Scheduling/Registration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job Summary:

  • This position consists of secretarial duties within a specific department.
